Reid’s Fine Furnishings is pleased to welcome Stickley’s new Park Slope Collection to its showrooms.

The fresh, versatile collection of furniture was created by Marissa Brown, Stickley’s new Director of Product Design. Combining organic curves with Arts & Crafts forms, Park Slope is a hybrid of styles, equally at home in both mission or modern surroundings.

The centerpiece of the collection is the platform bed, featuring tapered columns and square spindles which are paired with a curved sculptured rail recalling mid-century Scandinavian designs. This bold combination of elements works holistically to create a harmonious design, with the platform and headboard giving the bed a presence without dominating the room’s environment.

23 years

In 1995, we opened Reid’s Fine Furnishings in Roanoke’s historic Grandin Village as a family-owned, high-end furniture retailer with a passion for our community.

Twenty-three years later, we continue to live out that vision, offering furniture, lighting, rugs, interior design and home décor accessories from our showrooms in Roanoke and our second location in Forest.

Being an active part of the community is an important part of Reid’s Fine Furnishings’ philosophy as a business. We take pleasure in giving back and consider it an honor to be able to help others.

An example of this spirit of philanthropy can be seen in our involvement with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) and Research Institute in Roanoke. We recently provided a “Stressless seating” area to the school, donating two Stressless sofas for students to relax in during their downtime.

“The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine does great things for our community,” said Reid’s owner Bill Waide. “We need to support it and this was one way to show that – by providing a comfortable space for these hard-at-work students to study or relax.”

The Reid’s Fine Furnishings team made the trip to High Point, North Carolina in April for the 2018 Spring High Point Furniture Market. While there, we stocked up on design ideas and invested in new inventory that is sure to turn heads! We also selected a few one-of-a-kind antiques, including pieces from France and Germany.

These new items should be arriving to our showroom in late June.

color of the year

Pantone recently announced that the 2018 Color of the Year is Ultra Violet.

This deep shade of purple can make a bold statement in any room, but many people fear it can be overpowering if used incorrectly. Our interior designer Lia Serapiglia has some suggestions to help you incorporate this color into your décor without overdoing it.
